We love languages - and Thanksgiving!

Cool fact: Did you know Thanksgiving originated as a harvest festival? Yes sir! It’s one of the biggest American events celebrated in the USA. The first Thanksgiving was celebrated by the pilgrims first harvest in the new world in October 1621.

Another fact: The National Football League has a tradition of the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys always playing on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is also always celebrated on the last Thursday in the month of November.

Nice to know: Some popular dishes that are consumed on Thanksgiving are turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie

Most important fact! You can’t have a delicious bird without a mouth-watering stuffing.

Next fact: Every year there is a huge parade in New York to celebrate Thanksgiving. The float parade to be shown is always Saint Nick. Just as a precursor or reminder that Christmas is coming.

Another one? A Thanksgiving tradition is that the President of the US pardons one Turkey every year. Well, on a different note, who likes cornbread?! (:

Fact: Thanksgiving is getting more and more popular in Germany, too. Germany originally celebrate „Erntedank“, which is the German version of Thanksgiving.

Best part of Thanksgiving is, it gives the green light to bring out the Xmas tree.
